HOFFMAN ESTATES, Ill.---Chicago Wolves right wing Darren Haydar scored 97 seconds into the extra session to lift the team to a 2-1 overtime victory against the Milwaukee Admirals at the Triphahn Community Center and Ice Arena Saturday night.

Forward Nathan Longpre also scored for Chicago, while goaltender Matt Climie kicked out 21 of 22 shots in picking up the win for the Wolves.

Haydar potted the game-winning goal at 1:37 of the extra frame. Working on the power-play, he held the puck below the far circle and flicked a shot over the shoulder of Admirals netminder Chet Pickard.

Chicago (3-0-0-0) opened scoring at 5:53 of the opening period. A Milwaukee defender mishandled the puck behind the Admirals net and Longpre picked up the loose puck and stuffed past Milwaukee goaltender Atte Engren.

Engren stopped 11 of 12 shots in 29:10 of action, while Pickard (0-1-0) turned aside 13 shots in 31:57 of relief duty.

Milwaukee (1-0-1-0) tied the score with 5:24 remaining in the third period when right Wing Taylor Beck was standing in the near circle alone and wristed a shot past Climie (1-0-0), five-hole.

The Wolves will open their 18th season in Texas when they battle the San Antonio Rampage at the AT&T Center on Sat., Oct. 8, at 7 p.m.
