Aeros Drop Their Preseason Opener

OKLAHOMA CITY --- Tyler Pitlick scored twice and goaltenders David LeNeveu and Olivier Roy combined to stop all 22 Houston shots as the Aeros fell 4-0 in their preseason opener against the Oklahoma City Barons at the Cox Convention Center on Friday.

Houston goaltender Dennis Endras made 15 saves on 18 shots in 31 minutes of action and was saddled with the loss. Darcy Kuemper stopped 11 of 12 in relief duty.

Ryan Martindale scored the only goal the Barons needed with a little more than five minutes remaining in the first period. Dan Ringwald stung the Aeros with another goal with 52 seconds left in the opening frame.

Mark Arcobello chipped in with two assists as the Barons added goals in the second and third periods.

NEXT GAME

The Aeros visit the Texas Stars in Cedar Park on Sunday at 5:05 p.m.

BOMB DROPPINGS

The Aeros played without several returning players from last season's Calder Cup Finals squad including Jon DiSalvatore and Warren Peters...High-scoring newcomer Jeff Taffe was also a scratch.
