Bridgeport Islanders News Release
BRIDGEPORT, Conn. - The Bridgeport Sound Tigers, proud AHL affiliate of the New York Islanders, are thrilled to bring back "Teddy Bear Toss" for their Friday, Nov. 23rd matchup against the Hartford Wolf Pack at Webster Bank Arena. It will coincide with Hockey and Hops , which has become one of the Sound Tigers most popular promotional events each season.
Teddy Bear Toss
Teddy Bear Toss is a unique and highly-entertaining opportunity to give back during the holiday season. Fans are asked to bring new stuffed animals, or other soft toys, to the 7 p.m. game and toss them onto the ice when the Sound Tigers score their first goal. Anyone who brings a new stuffed animal or other soft toy will receive $5 off their box office ticket the day of the game.
The toys will be collected and donated to the Connecticut Education Foundation (CEF) for its holiday gift-giving project. The efforts will help provide gifts to children in need during the holiday season. More than 10,000 Connecticut public school students have benefited from the holiday program since it began in 1998.
The Sound Tigers are offering one-stop shopping with a "Ticket and Teddy" package, which includes a center-ice ticket to the game and an 8" teddy bear for just $25 (regularly $39 at the box office). Secure yours today by calling 203-345-2300 ext. 7 or.
In addition, the Sound Tigers will be selling teddy bears on the concourse as part of their game-worn jersey raffle through the start of the contest. Get an arms length of jersey raffle tickets, plus an 8" Sound Tigers teddy bear, for just $20 inside the main doors to the concourse (while supplies last). A portion of the monetary proceeds will also go straight to CEF.
