Toronto Marlies News Release
Game Preview
The Toronto Marlies (5-5-0-2) continue on the annual Royal road trip Tuesday night, heading east to Laval for a matchup with the Rocket (6-8-1-0).
The Marlies are coming off an 8-2 win in Belleville in Saturday night and have scored a combined 20 goals in their past three games.
Sam Gagner is leading the Marlies offensively with 12 points on the season (6G, 6A), while Carl Grundstrom (5G, 6A), Chris Mueller (4G, 7A) and Calle Rosen (1G, 10A) are supporting the scoring with 11 points each.
It's Adam Cracknell's first return to Laval since joining the Marlies this summer and he enters the game with points in three straight outings, tallying a goal and three assists over that span. Cracknell has 10 points (3G, 7A) on the year.
The Marlies will be without forward Trevor Moore in tonight's game as the winger was recalled by the Toronto Maple Leafs (NHL) earlier today.
Alex Belzile has been leading the Rocket's offence with 11 points (1G, 10A) this season. Rookie forward Jake Evans has gotten out to a strong start in his first season, with nine points (5G, 4A) in the early-going.
Both teams have won three of their last five games, with Laval losing their most recent contest on Friday against Cleveland.
One area the Marlies will look to improve Tuesday night is their penalty kill. So far on the season, Toronto has killed off 76.1% of shorthanded situations but tonight can look to gain some momentum and confidence on the PK as Laval has only converted on 11.8% of their power play opportunities.
Puck drop is scheduled for 7:30 and fans can catch all the action on AHLTV.
