SAN ANTONIO, TX - Jordan Nolan and Chris Butler both posted three-point games and goaltender Jordan Binnington stopped all 16 shots he faced, as the San Antonio Rampage (4-12-0) earned their third shutout victory of the season with a 5-0 win over the Manitoba Moose (7-7-0) in front of 6,063 fans on Cool School Day at the AT&T Center.

With thousands of school children in attendance for the 10:30 a.m. start time, Nolan netted two goals to extend his points streak to three games and linemate Chris Thorburn notched his first two points with the Rampage, helping San Antonio end a three-game losing streak and earn their third win of the season on home ice.

Sammy Blais opened the scoring at 9:12 of the first period with his second goal of the season. After an extended shift in the Manitoba zone, Blais collected his own rebound and flipped it past Moose goaltender Eric Comrie for a 1-0 Rampage lead.

Nolan extended that lead with his first goal of the game at 6:25 of the second period. On a 2-on-2 rush, Nolan drove around the Moose defense with a burst of speed on the left wing to track down a Thorburn feed, moving in alone on Comrie to slip a backhander through the goaltender's pads for a 2-0 San Antonio advantage.

The Rampage would score three more in the third period, with Thorburn again involved. The veteran created a turnover in the neutral zone with a poke-check on Kristian Vesalainen sending the puck back into the Moose end. Comrie came out to play it away from the oncoming Thorburn, but he mishandled the puck and gave it away to Ryan Olsen. Olsen hit the open net for his third goal of the season at 10:40.

At 15:29 of the third period, former Rampage forward Felix Girard was penalized with a five-minute major and a game misconduct for a check to the head on Brian Flynn, who did not return to the contest. The Rampage were on the power play for the rest of the game and would convert twice against Comrie.

Butler scored his first goal of the season with a point drive off the post at 16:25 of the third. Just 1:50 later, Butler forced a turnover at the Moose blue line that allowed Klim Kostin to find Nolan at the right circle for his second of the game and third goal of the season.

Kostin's assist was his sixth point in the last eight games.

Binnington earned his second shutout of the season, and the ninth in his AHL career, stopping nine shots in the third period to secure his team-leading third victory. Binnington preserved a 2-0 Rampage lead midway through the second period with a lunging save on Mason Appleton, the reigning AHL Rookie of the Year, sprawling form right to left with the glove to make the stop with Appleton alone in front.

San Antonio was 2-for-8 on the power play, the fourth time this season the Rampage have scored multiple power play goals in a game. The teams combined for 74 penalty minutes, 38 of which came in the third period in a game that featured fighting majors for Sam Lofquist and Niko Mikkola.

The Rampage return to action on Saturday night against the Rockford IceHogs. Saturday is San Antonio's first ever Hockey Fights Cancer game, and Rampage players will wear special lavender jerseys that will be auctioned off following the game to benefit the ThriveWell Cancer Foundation. Puck-drop scheduled for 7 p.m., with the game available on The Ticket 760AM and on AHLTV.
