Taylor to Appear at Game Saturday

The Arkansas RiverBlades have announced that undefeated middleweight boxer Jermain Taylor will drop the puck for the opening faceoff this Saturday, as the RiverBlades host the Louisiana IceGators in the final regular season home game at the Alltel Arena.

Taylor, who has a 14-0 record with 10 knockouts, will be signing autographs before the game, and then will be on hand to drop the ceremonial first puck at 7:05 p.m.

Taylor, an Olympic bronze medalist, will be fighting Marcos Primera (14-3-1, 9 knockouts) at the Statehouse Convention Center in Little Rock on Monday, March 31st, as part of HBO's "Monday Night Fights" pay-per-view telecast.

Also on hand at the game will be Arkansas' Terry Smith (15-0, 11 knockouts), who will fight Lorenzo Boyd in a non-televised heavyweight matchup at the event. Smith will also be wearing a RiverBlades jersey when he comes down the aisle to fight.
