
Komets to Tangle with Beacons in First Round

Fort Wayne Komets News Release
Fort Wayne, IN --- The Komets will face the Port Huron Beacons in a first round, best-of-5 UHL playoff series starting in Fort Wayne Wednesday, April 2, at 7:35pm. The Komets will enjoy home-ice advantage at least through the first 2 rounds of the playoffs after clinching the Eastern Conference title. The Komets will have home-ice advantage in the finals as well if they take the Tarry Cup and win the regular season championship, which hasn't been determined as of this release.
Game 2 will be held in Fort Wayne Friday, April 4, at 7:35pm. Game 3 will be played at Port Huron Sunday, April 6, at 4:05pm (Fort Wayne time). Game 4, if necessary, will be played at Port Huron Monday, April 7, at 6:05pm (Fort Wayne time). Game 5, if necessary, will be played at Fort Wayne Tuesday, April 8, at 7:35pm.

This weekend the Komet's 2002-03 regular season campaign concludes with 3 games. The Komets skate at Flint Friday night at 7:30pm. Saturday the Komets travel to Rockford to face the IceHogs in the first of a home-and-home set at 8:05pm (Fort Wayne time). Sunday the Komets conclude their regular season slate when they host Rockford at 5:05pm.
Tickets for the Komet's regular season home finale against the Rockford IceHogs Sunday and for the first 2 home playoff games against the Port Huron Beacons are on sale at the Coliseum Ticket Office and online at www.ticketmaster.com.
Colin Chaulk to set out Friday night's game at Flint......Komet center Colin Chaulk has been issued a one-game suspension by the UHL as a result of an altercation in a game against the Adirondack IceHawks Friday, March 21, and will be ineligible to participate in the Komets next game this Friday night, March 28 at Flint.
