AUGUSTA, GA - Josh Taylor gave up one run over seven innings and struck out a career high nine hitters as the BlueClaws won their second straight game in Augusta, 4-2 over the GreenJackets on Tuesday night.

The BlueClaws (10-10) have taken the first two games of the series with Augusta (9-11) to get back to .500 on the season.

The game was scoreless heading to the 7th inning when the BlueClaws scored all four of their runs. After a hit and two walks off Connor Kaden, a Toms River native, Carlos Tocci scored on a wild pitch for the first run of the game. Tim Zier then reached on a fielder's choice that scored Rhys Hoskins, and Herlis Rodriguez drove in Damek Tomscha and Zier with a two-run double to make it 4-0.

The GreenJackets got their first run on a two-out home run by Aramis Garcia off Taylor in the bottom of the 7th inning. They added a run on a two-out RBI double by Andrew Cain in the bottom of the 9th to make it 4-2, but Garcia lined out to Rodriguez in right field to end the game.

Jesen Therrien gave up one run over two innings to earn his 2nd save of the year and 4th as a BlueClaw.

Taylor's seven innings were a career-long and his nine strikeouts were a career high. He won his first game with the BlueClaws (1-1) and the third game of his career.

Lakewood threatened in the first inning, but Carlos Tocci, who doubled, was thrown out at home plate on a base hit to left by Rhys Hoskins. Hoskins had two hits in the game for Lakewood.

The BlueClaws look for the series sweep, which would be their first since 4/29-5/1 at Lexington last year, on Thursday night. RHP Tyler Viza (3-0) starts for Lakewood against LHP Mark Reyes (1-0).
