Tacoma's Seddon shuts down Sacramento

WEST SACRAMENTO, Calif. - Tacoma left-hander Chris Seddon pitched a three-hit, complete-game shutout in the Rainiers' 2-0 victory over the Sacramento River Cats before 10.081 fans Friday night at Raley Field. With runners on first and second in the ninth inning, Seddon struck out Chris Carter looking to end the game. Carter, who represented the winning run, entered Friday tied for the Pacific Coast League lead with 13 home runs. Right fielder Mike Wilson provided all the scoring with a two-run home run in the second inning. River Cats lead-off hitter Corey Wimberly saw his consecutive on-base streak end at 31 games with an 0-for-4 performance. The streak was the longest in the PCL this season. Wimberly hit .317 with 16 walks and 24 runs during the streak. Sacramento's home record fell to 10-18 with the loss. The River Cats next head to Fresno for a four-game series with the first-place Fresno Grizzlies.
