COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.-Brandon Allen smashed a two-run home run in the 10th inning Friday night, erasing a tie ballgame and pushing the Reno Aces to an 8-6 victory over the Colorado Springs Sky Sox in the series finale at Security Service Field.

The Aces pushed a run across in the ninth to force extra frames, and Allen made sure the effort didn't go for naught, crushing an Edgmer Escalona 3-1 offering deep over the wall in right to put Reno ahead by two. Jordan Norberto came on in the bottom half of the 10th and slammed the door, earning his second save and forcing a series split.

Reno starter Matt Torra dealt yet another quality start, scattering three runs over six innings, though he did not figure into the decision. Blaine Boyer (1-0) blew a save, but earned the victory, his first in an Aces uniform.

The loss fell to Escalona (1-1), who surrendered Allen's blast in the 10th.

Doug Deeds recorded his sixth-straight multi-hit effort with two hits and a run scored. Carlos Corporan finished 4-for-4 at the dish with two runs scored, two RBIs and a two-run homer in the second inning that put the Aces on the board for the first time. Allen's 10th inning shot was home run No. 100 of his Minor League career.

The Aces now return home to kick-off an eight-game homestand. First up is a four-game set versus the Portland Beavers, beginning with a 7 p.m. first pitch at Aces Ballpark on Saturday night.

Tickets for all Aces games start at just $7, and are available by calling the Reno Aces box office at (775) 334-7000 or by visiting RenoAces.com. The brand-new Freight House District, located just outside Aces Ballpark, is open seven days a week, on both game days and non-game days.
