Memphis wins over Oklahoma City

HIGHLIGHTS: Memphis added three runs in the first, then scattered four more throughout the contest taking the final game of the series against Oklahoma City by a score of 7-3. The Redbirds (30-24) secured three out of four wins during the four-game set at the Brick.

Michael Ballard (L, 3-4 ) went 4.1 innings in his start, his line went ten hits, four earned runs, two base-on-balls and a strikeout.

Tanner Scheppers mounted three innings of work for his third consecutive appearance. For the first time in Scheppers minor league affiliated career, he allowed more than one run in an inning. The Redbirds plated two runs in the eighth against the right hander. Over his three innings of work, Scheppers allowed four hits and two runs, striking out four.

Chris Davis, Brandon Boggs, and Ryan Garko each secured two hits. Brandon Boggs had the only extra-base hit for the RedHawks, a double. Davis and Jarrod Saltala macchia were the only Hawks with RBIs.

Oklahoma City and Omaha will begin their four-game set Saturday evening at Rosenblatt Stadium. Guillermo Moscoso (2-2, 2.95) and Luis Mendoza (3-3, 3.25) are slated to pitch for the RedHawks and Royals respectively with a first pitch scheduled for 7:05 pm.
