T-Bones Sweep Rockland

PAMONA, New York - The Kansas City T-Bones, finished off an impressive three-game sweep with an 11-7 win, Wednesday night against Rockland.

The T-Bones trailed 3-0 after the opening inning, but scored twice in the third inning, and pulled within 3-2. The T-Bones, scored seven in the fourth inning to take a 9-3 lead. The T-Bones got two-out RBI hits from Jake Blakwood, Adam Bailey, Kyle Robinson and Joe Rapp to knock Boulder starting pitcher Richard Salazar (6-1) out of the game.

T-Bones starting pitcher Kyle Brady, got just two-outs in the first inning, before the bullpen finished the game, and sweep. Jared Messer (1-0) got credited with the win, with two and one-third scoreless innings. Fernando Hernandez picked up his fourth save of the season with one and one third scoreless innings.

T-Bones sluggers Blackwood and Bailey, each finished with three hits, with Blackwood connecting on his fifth home run of the season, and second in as many days. Ryan Cavan, Nate Tenbrink, Kyle Robinson and Robby Kuzdale each had two hits for the T-Bones, including Kuzdales third home run of the season. In total, the T-Bones cranked out 16 hits to go with 11 runs.

The win concludes the T-Bones Can-Am roadtrip, in which the T-Bones finished with a 7-2 overal record, and won all three seres. The sweep of Rockland is just the second sweep for the T-Bones this season, and first on the road.

The T-Bones (18-16) have an off-day Thursday evening, but return home to CommunityAmerica Ballpark on July 3rd, tickets are available by calling the Providence Medical Center Box Office at CommunityAmerica Ballpark at 913-328-5618.
