Winnipeg Goldeyes manager Rick Forney announced today the club has signed rookie catcher Chris Robinson, activated left-handed pitcher Kyle Anderson from the disabled list and traded IF Tony Delmonico to the Sioux City Explorers for cash.

Robinson, 23, is coming off an All-American season with NCAA Division I Morehead State. The product of Uxbridge, Ontario hit .402 with nine home runs and 69 RBI in 58 games with the Eagles in his senior season. He was named the Ohio Valley Conference Player of the Year, Louisville Slugger/Collegiate Baseball First Team All-American and National Collegiate Baseball Writer's Association Second Team All-American. He led Morehead State to their first Ohio Valley Conference Championship since 1993 and first NCAA Regional Appearance since 1983. Aside from his many records, he hit for the cycle in a game against Murray State.

The Goldeyes have 22 players on their active roster, including 12 pitchers and 10 position players.

Anderson will start this afternoon as the Goldeyes face the Sioux City Explorers on a Canada Day at Shaw Park. Game time is 4 p.m.
