Syracuse Crunch Announce 2012-13 Regular Season Schedule

Syracuse, NY - The Crunch will open their 19th AHL campaign on Friday, October 12 with a visit to I-90 rivals the Rochester Americans. The following night the Crunch will host East Division foe the Hershey Bears in their home opener on Saturday, October 13. The complete 76 game schedule can be viewed below.

This marks the ninth time in the Crunch's 19-year history and seventh year in a row the club will start the season on the road (2001-01, 2003-04, 2006-07, 2007-08, 2008-09, 2009-10, 2010-11 and 2011-12).

Syracuse will play 32 of its 38 home games on either a Friday (14) or Saturday night (18). Additionally, the Crunch will play three home games on Sunday and three on Wednesday.

December and March are the busiest months of the season with 14 games in each month including seven road contests and seven games at the War Memorial Arena. The team will play 7 games in October, 11 in November, 9 in January, 13 in February and 8 in April.

The Crunch will play 30 of their 76 games against East Division opponents (Binghamton 8, Hershey 6, Norfolk 8, Wilkes-Barre/Scranton 8). Syracuse has 22 contests against the Northeast Division (Adirondack 8, Albany 8, Bridgeport 2, Connecticut 2, Springfield 2) and 18 games against the Western Conference's North Division (Hamilton 4, Lake Erie 2, Rochester 10, Toronto 2).

The 2012-13 Crunch schedule features two five-game homestands, one from March 15-23, the other from April 12-April 21 to close out the regular season. The team's longest road trip spans five games (November. 24-December. 2, February. 10-18).
