Houston Aeros Release 2012-13 Schedule

HOUSTON --- The Houston Aeros, the American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate of the National Hockey League's (NHL) Minnesota Wild, today announced the team's schedule for the 2012-13 season in conjunction with the AHL.
The Aeros will play 76 games this season (38 home, 38 road). Members of the newly-minted South Division, the Aeros play 44 divisional games with 22 of those at home. South Division rivals include the Charlotte Checkers, Oklahoma City Barons, San Antonio Rampage, and Texas Stars. Every contest this season will be against Western Conference foes.
The home portion of the schedule commences on Saturday, Oct. 13. That game will commemorate the 40th anniversary of the first Aeros game played by the World Hockey Association (WHA) team in 1972.
The Aeros will play 15 total Friday and Saturday games in addition to nine Sunday contests for a total of 24 weekend games at Toyota Center in downtown Houston. The Aeros are slated to play one game at Xcel Energy Center, home of the Minnesota Wild, on Sunday, Nov. 18, at 5:05 p.m. Aeros season ticket holders have the option of attending the game in St. Paul.
All Monday-Saturday home games are scheduled to begin at 7:05 p.m. Sunday games will have a 5:05 p.m. puck drop. Exceptions include the annual Kid's Day game set for 11:05 a.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 11, New Year's Day vs. Oklahoma City at 5:05 p.m., and Sunday, Feb. 3 at 12:05 p.m.
"We are excited that our fans have the opportunity to see every team in the Western Conference this season," Aeros President David Burke said. "We will continue to build on our Sunday hockey tradition with a slate of exciting games. Based on or talks with fans this offseason, we are also pleased to offer a new start time of 7:05 p.m. for all of our Monday through Saturday games. The earlier time gives our fans the opportunity to enjoy the game without staying out too late."
Aeros season tickets start as low as $9 per seat and may be purchased online at Aeros.com by placing a $100 deposit. Once your order is processed, an Aeros ticket representative will contact you to choose your exact seat location as well as discuss the payment option that best suits your needs. Single game tickets go on sale at a date to be determined.

ANNUAL KID'S DAY GAME - Tuesday, Dec. 11 vs. San Antonio (11:05 a.m.).
NEW YEAR'S AT HOME - The Aeros will host a New Year's Day game for the second season in a row when they battle the OKC Barons at 5:05 p.m.
