Checkers' 2012-13 Schedule Released

CHARLOTTE, NC - The American Hockey League announced today the 2012-13 regular-season schedule for its 30 member clubs. The Charlotte Checkers will begin the season with a nine-game road trip prior to their home opener on Sunday, Nov. 4 at Time Warner Cable Arena.
The Checkers and Carolina Hurricanes also announced today that the Sunday, Jan. 6 game against the Norfolk Admirals will be played at Raleigh's PNC Arena. Details on the game will be released in September.
Both the Saturday, Dec. 15, and Saturday, Jan. 26, games will be doubleheaders with the NBA's Charlotte Bobcats at Time Warner Cable Arena, with the Checkers' games beginning at noon.
Charlotte, now in the South Division of the AHL's Western Conference, will play against 12 different opponents in 2012-13, including defending league champion Norfolk, its only Eastern Conference foe.
The promotional calendar, outlining promotions, giveaways and theme nights, will be released in the coming weeks and single-game tickets will go on sale Tuesday, Sept. 18.
