Falcons Reveal 2012-2013 Schedule

Springfield, Mass. - The Springfield Falcons, AHL affiliate of the NHL's Columbus Blue Jackets, announced their schedule for the 2012-2013 season on Friday.
The 76-game season commences at the MassMutual Center on Saturday, Oct. 13 when the Falcons welcome the St. John's IceCaps to Springfield at 7:00 p.m., kicking off an opening-weekend celebration that includes a game on Sunday, Oct. 14 at home against the Adirondack Phantoms at 3:00 p.m.
Springfield's Friday, Saturday, and weeknight contests will all begin at 7:00 p.m. Seven of the club's nine Sunday home games will start at 3:00 p.m., with the exception being two 5:00 p.m. games against the Norfolk Admirals on Nov. 11 and Dec. 30. Four of the Sunday games fall before a Monday in which there is no school.
"We are very pleased with how fan-friendly our 2012-2013 schedule is," Falcons President and General Manager Bruce Landon said. "With 35 of our 38 home games occurring on either a Friday, Saturday, or Sunday, we look forward to seeing our fans out in bunches at the MassMutual Center this season."
The Falcons are coming off of their most successful season in 14 years, as the club posted a record of 36-34-3-3 in 2011-2012, its first record above .500 since 1997-1998. The 2012-2013 season will be Springfield's first under new head coach Brad Larsen.
Springfield will also play three preseason contests, taking on the Providence Bruins at the New England Sports Center in Marlborough, Mass. on Wednesday, Oct. 3 at 7:05 p.m. before welcoming the Worcester Sharks on Friday, Oct. 5 and the Bruins on Saturday, Oct. 6 to the MassMutual Center, with both games beginning at 7:00 p.m.
Ticket packages to see the Falcons in the 2012-2013 season start as low as $112 and can be purchased by calling (413) 739-GOAL (4625).
Individual game tickets will go on sale near the start of the season. An exact on-sale date will be announced through FalconsAHL.com in the coming weeks.
