
Monarchs Announce 2012-13 Schedule

MANCHESTER, NH - The Manchester Monarchs, the primary affiliate of the 2012 Stanley Cup Champion Los Angeles Kings, will open the 2012-13 season on the road versus the Providence Bruins at the Dunkin' Donuts Center on Friday, October 12 and then the team will open their home schedule against the Bruins on Friday, October 19 at the Verizon Wireless Arena, the American Hockey League and the Monarchs announced on Friday. Individual tickets for the 2012-13 season will go on sale to the public on Monday, October 1 at 9:30 a.m. and can be purchased by logging onto www.manchestermonarchs.com, by visiting the Verizon Wireless Arena Box Office or through Ticketmaster.
The Monarchs will open their 12th AHL season with two road games against the Bruins on Friday, October 12 at 7:05 p.m. and the Albany Devils at the Times Union Center on Saturday, October 13 at 5:05 p.m. The home season will open with a 7:00 p.m. contest against the Bruins on Friday, October 19 and the Portland Pirates on Saturday, October 20 at 7:00 p.m., both games are at the Verizon Wireless Arena.
Manchester will hold their 12th annual New Year's Eve celebration against the Worcester Sharks on Monday, December 31 at 7:00 p.m. The Monarchs Care Foundation and Catholic Medical Center are once again teaming up to fight Breast Cancer for the third annual Pink In The Rink game against the Bruins on Saturday, February 9 at 7:00 p.m.
The start times for all Monarchs home games Monday through Saturday for the 2012-13 season will be 7:00 p.m. except on Wednesday, November 14 against the Adirondack Phantoms when the third annual Education Day game will begin at 10:00 a.m. The puck will drop at 3:00 p.m. for all home games on Sundays this season except on Sunday, March 10 against the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins which will start at 5:00 p.m.
The Monarchs 76-game schedule includes 38 games at the Verizon Wireless Arena in Manchester. The Monarchs will meet 12 of their 14 Eastern Conference rivals during the 2012-13 season. Manchester will play 44 of the 76-game season against teams in the Atlantic Division, which includes the St. John's IceCaps, Portland, Providence and Worcester. The Monarchs will play Portland, Providence and Worcester 12 times (six home and six road games) and St. John's eight times (four home and four road games).
The Monarchs will play 22 games this season against teams in the Eastern Conference's Northeast Division including the Bridgeport Sound Tigers, Connecticut Whale, Springfield Falcons, Adirondack and Albany. Manchester will play Adirondack and Albany twice (one home and one road game) and Bridgeport, Connecticut and Springfield six times (three home and three road games). The Monarchs will also play 10 games against the Eastern Conference's East Division including the Binghamton Senators, Hershey Bears and Wilkes-Barre/Scranton. The Monarchs will play Binghamton twice (one home and one road game) and Hershey and Wilkes-Barre/Scranton four times (two home and two road games).
