Moosic, Pa. - The SWB RailRiders (Triple-A/New York Yankees) halted their skid at three games with a 2-1 victory over the Lehigh Valley IronPigs on Wednesday night at PNC Field. The RailRiders (70-55) kept a 4.5 game advantage over second place Rochester in the International League North Division with the win. The IronPigs fell to 55-70.
Brady Lail (2-1) fired his second quality start with SWB, limiting the IronPigs to a run on four hits over six innings. James Pazos guided the RailRiders into the eighth and gave way to Andrew Bailey. The right-hander recorded the final four outs to earn his fourth save with the club.
Anthony Vasquez (7-6) absorbed the loss after allowing two runs across 6.2 innings. He yielded five hits, walked three and failed to a record a strikeout for the first time this season.
The IronPigs struck the first blow when Brian Bogusevic launched a backside home run to left. The solo shot with two away in the third was Bogusevic's 11th of the year and put Lehigh Valley up 1-0.
Ben Gamel came through a clutch hit to even the score in the last of the inning. Cole Figueroa reached on a fielding error by shortstop Chase d'Arnaud and Gregorio Petit roped a double into left to put men at second and third. Gamel followed with a hit to score Figueroa.
Aaron Judge began the fourth with a thunderous home run to left-center. The shot proved to be the game-winner and was Judge's seventh with SWB. He now leads the New York Yankees farm system with 19 round-trippers for the year.
The RailRiders go for a series win against the Lehigh Valley IronPigs (Philadelphia Phillies) on Thursday night at 7:05 p.m. at PNC Field. Right-hander Kyle Davies (8-7, 3.41) will oppose left-hander Jesse Biddle (2-3, 5.91).
