Toledo Mud Hens News Release

The Toledo Mud Hens and Fifth Third Bank are teaming up to take a stand against cancer, during Stand Up to Cancer Night at Fifth Third Field on Sunday, August 30. The event aims to raise awareness as well as funds for cancer research while placing the spotlight on those fighting the disease.

Special signs will be given to fans entering the ballpark to personalize as a way of supporting a family member or friend fighting cancer. A time out will be taken during the game for fans to show that support on the giant video boards. There will also be a t-shirt toss and fans will be encouraged to take photos at the ballpark that night and post them on Twitter using the hashtag #howifight.

For each strikeout a Mud Hens pitcher registers during the game, Fifth Third will donate $53 to Stand Up to Cancer, a national cancer research foundation which aims to get new therapies to patients quickly to try to save lives now. Fans can also purchase raffle tickets on the main concourse for a Mud Hens team signed jersey, with proceeds going to Stand Up to Cancer.

On August 30, the Mud Hens take on Indianapolis at 6 p.m. For tickets, call 419-724-4367 or order online.
