Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders News Release

YESTERDAY: Chris Parmelee's third hit of the day was the biggest for the SWB RailRiders (Triple-A/ New York Yankees) as it flew over the right-field wall to bring instant victory at PNC Field. The RailRiders rallied from down four runs to post an 8-7, 10-inning triumph against the IronPigs.

CHAIN: Parmelee began the year in a 2-for-26 (.077) funk with no extra-base hits, one RBI and 10 strikeouts. He has since gone 18-for-55 with eight extra-base knocks, seven RBIs and eight walks over 15 games, slashing .327/.413/.545/.958. He finished yesterday 3-for-5 with two runs scored and a triple shy of the cycle.

DUAL THREAT: Gary Sanchez owns the IL lead in doubles and ranks second with 17 extra-base hits: 11 doubles, one triple, five homers. A .175 bat after his first 10 games, he has since gone 20-for-52 with 11 extra-base hits, slashing .370/.414/.685/1.099 over 13 games. He doubled twice and homered in yesterday's homestand opener. His 19 RBIs lead the team and trail only Toledo's Steven Moya (21) for the IL lead. When he has been behind the plate, opposing base stealers have been caught eight times in 15 attempts (.533). Only Norfolk's Francisco Pena has better caught-stealing numbers among ranked IL catchers. Sanchez has multiple hits in four straight games played, going 10-for-19 with six extra-base hits including three homers slashing .526/.550/1.158/1.708.

I AM THE LAW: Aaron Judge recorded his team-leading fourth outfield assist when he nailed the speedy Nick Williams at home plate during a fly-ball double play on Brock Stassi's lift to right in the sixth. It marked his second outfield dime in as many days. He nailed Tommy Joseph at third base to end the fifth inning at Lehigh Valley on Friday night. Over his last nine games, Judge has gone 10-for-35 with six extra-base hits (three homers), eight RBIs and six walks, slashing .286/.390/.629/1.019. He co-leads the team with five home runs.

R&R: After a day of rest on Friday, Rob Refsnyder rocked right back into rhythm with a 2-for-4 effort. He doubled, walked and scored. He has reached safely in 15 straight games and owns the team's longest hitting streak of the season, a 11-gamer. He stands one game off the pace of Columbus' Giovanny Urshela (12) for the IL's longest active hitting streak. Refsnyder's run has lifted his average by 85 points (.190-.275). He entered the last road trip in a 4-for-30 (.133) funk, but has gone 15-for-35 (.429) since.

HAIL CESAR: Cesar Puello slammed a pair of doubles on a three-hit day that saw him drive in three runs. Since coming off the DL on April 26, he has gone 9-for-22 (.409), lifting his season-long average to .351.

SOL MAN: With Ben Gamel's MLB promotion, Donovan Solano has emerged as the new regular leadoff man. He worked a walk, scored a run and logged a sac fly yesterday. Over his last 13 games has gone 16-for-50 (.320). Solano is the only RailRider to lead off this season other than Gamel, having spelled him four times before taking the role outright in each of SWB's last three games.
