Corporan's Homer Gives Bulls 2nd Walk-Off Straight

DURHAM - Carlos Corporan hit a walk-off two-run home run in the bottom of the 13th as the Durham Bulls beat the Norfolk Tides 6-4 for their second extra-innings walk-off in a row.

Durham's (14-17) Patrick Leonard had singled for his first hit of the ballgame in the at-bat prior to Corporan's blast. Durham takes the series with Norfolk 2-1 with the win.

Catcher Mayo Acosta (1-0) came in to pitch in the top of the 13th and allowed two hits and a walk, but also struck out a batter in a scoreless frame to earn the win.

Pedro Beato took the loss and falls to 2-2 for the Tides (11-19).

The Bulls plated a pair of runs in the first after Taylor Motter and Luke Maile led off with back to back singles. Jaff Decker doubled them home in the next at-bat.

Nick Franklin then homered in the third to push the lead to 3-0. Norfolk would add two runs in the sixth and one in the seventh to push the game to extra innings for the third game in a row.

The Tides went up 4-3 in the 11th, but Jake Goebbert knotted it back up in the bottom of the inning with a leadoff solo homer.
