Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders News Release

ABOUT LAST NIGHT: The RailRiders' road success continued on Tuesday night at Frontier Field with a 6-4 defeat of the Rochester Red Wings.

RAZOR RAMON: Ramon Flores amassed three hits including a line drive home run, his fifth of the season. Flores delivered four home runs in his first nine games of the year including an Opening Night effort that saw him hit for the cycle. He had not homered in nearly 40 Triple-A games played since an April 18 solo shot off former SWB Opening Day hurler Bruce Billings at Syracuse. In five games since coming back from the big leagues, Flores has gone 7-for-20 (.350) with four RBIs and five runs scored. He has hit .346 against lefties but his shot off southpaw Ryan O'Rourke marked his first of the year against a lefty. O'Rourke had not allowed a home run to a fellow southpaw since he was with Low-A Beloit in 2011.

HEATING UP: Rob Segedin posted a pair of RBIs on a 2-for-4 night with a double. He has hit safely in six straight games, going 9-for-23 (.391) to raise his average to .268, the best it has been in a month. He closed play May 17 at Durham with a .270 contact clip. He has excelled against lefties (.325/.372/.475/.847) and on the road (.298/.353/.426/.778).

SAVIOR: Diego Moreno retired three of the four men charged to his ledger en route to his first save since July 21, 2014 with Double-A Trenton. He became the seventh different RailRider to log a save this season. In 18 appearances including a spot start and 33.2 innings pitched, Moreno has struck out 27 men while walking just eight. The IL has hit a slim .198 against him with only 23 hits (16 singles).

GETTIN' FIGGY WITH IT: Cole Figueroa went 1-for-4 with an RBI last night. Since his 0-for-3 day dropped his average to .184 on May 11 at Norfolk, he has gone 42-for-108 in a span of 28 games played. He has led the league with all four slashes over that time: .389/.436/.556/.991.

HIGH NOONAN: Nick Noonan has dominated the month of June, going 17-for-41 (.415/.467/.585/1.052) with five extra-base hits and eight RBIs in 11 games played. His June average, OBP and OPS lead the IL while his SLG ranks 6th.

#WINNING: The RailRiders have won seven of eight and 12 of 14 overall. They stand a season-high-tying 10 games above .500. Before this run, the SWB franchise had not stood that tall since the 2012 IL North champion SWB Yankees finished the year at 84-60.

ROAD WARRIORS: The RailRiders stand three games below .500 at PNC Field (17-20) and 13 games over on the road (21-8). The team has hit .282 on the road compared to a .259 mark at home. On the road, SWB has scored 150 runs in 29 games (5.2/game). At home, the squad has plated 139 runs in 37 games (3.8/game). The pitching has performed slightly better at home (3.25 ERA) than on the road (3.29 ERA). No IL team has a better road winning percentage than the RailRiders (.724), who have won 14 of 15 away from PNC Field.

OFF THE RAILS: With five-plus innings of two-run ball, starter Luis Severino (2-0) picked up his second win in as many starts...Jaron Long relieved Severino for his first bullpen outing as a RailRider...He allowed two inherited runners to cross...Long had last tossed in relief in his Double-A debut on July 8, 2014 at Reading...Branden Pinder faced one man, Reynaldo Rodriguez, and threw a 2-0 pitch behind him...Pinder was immediately ejected by home plate umpire Jansen Visconti and both benches received a warning.
