Six-Run Fourth Dooms SWB

Rochester, N.Y. - A fatal fourth inning saw six runs cross as the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders (Triple-A/New York Yankees) fell to the host Rochester Red Wings (Minnesota Twins) on Wednesday night, 7-1. SWB (38-29) has lost 12 of its last 15 at Frontier Field against the Red Wings (33-31).

The Red Wings had a man come to the plate 10 times in the deciding frame against starter Kyle Davies (5-4). Five of those runs came with two outs.

On the other side, Rochester starter Tyler Duffey (1-4) dominated over eight scoreless innings. He allowed six hits, five singles, while walking one and striking out nine.

The RailRiders avoided their first road shutout defeat by scratching out a run against Caleb Thielbar in the ninth. Cole Figueroa's first-pitch swing singled Ramon Flores home.

The three-game series concludes on Thursday night at 7:05 p.m. Right-hander Esmil Rogers will make his SWB debut against southpaw Jason Wheeler (1-5, 6.00). The Father's Day Legends Game will take place at PNC Field this coming Sunday featuring names like Reggie Jackson, Don Larsen and more. SWB went 1-for-13 with runners in scoring position.

The RailRiders enjoyed multi-hit showings by Ben Gamel, Gregorio Petit and Cole Figueroa.

Southpaw James Pazos relieved Davies and tossed two innings of one-run ball in his Triple-A debut.
