
Swarm Fall in Sold out School Day Game to Knicks

(GREENSBORO, N.C.) - The Greensboro Swarm (1-2), the NBA G League affiliate of the Charlotte Hornets, fell, 116-109, to the Westchester Knicks (1-1) on Wednesday in the sold out School Day Game, presented by Novant Health, at the Fieldhouse at the Greensboro Coliseum Complex. Two-way player Robert Franks had a team-high 26 points in the organizations 18th sellout.
Franks tallied his 26 points on 11-of-18 shooting, along with six rebounds in 37 minutes. Jalen McDaniels (on assignment from the Hornets) added 19 points and 11 rebounds in 40 minutes for his first double-double of the season. Joe Chealey led the Swarm reserves with 18 points, two rebounds and two assists in 25 minutes.
Westchester grabbed an early double-figure lead, 14-4, on an Andrew White three-point shot just five minutes into the game. The Knicks lead would swell to as much as 20-points in the first half and Greensboro trailed 66-50 at halftime. White had 27 of his game-high 39 points in the first half.
Greensboro would pull within two possessions on several occasions in the second half. Franks led a fourth quarter charge with 12 points in the final frame. The Swarm closed the game on an 18-8 run and was within six points of the Knicks in the final minute but Westchester held off the comeback by converting at the free-throw line.
Other notable performances for the Swarm include two-way player Kobi Simmons (15 points, 11 assists), who earned his third double-double of the season, and Caleb Martin (16 points and five assists while on assignment from the Hornets). Off the bench, Demajeo Wiggins pulled down 11 rebounds.
For the Knicks, White's big day came from long-range (9-for-11 on threes). Lamar Peters and JJ Moore both scored 20 points each. Peters also had 11 assists for the double-double. Overall the Knicks shot 51 percent.
Greensboro returns to the Fieldhouse for Opening Night, presented by Blue Ridge Companies, on Friday, November 22, at 7:00 p.m.
