
BayHawks to Recognize Military Heroes and Collect Care Package Items for Troops

ERIE, PAÃÂ - The Erie BayHawks, NBA G League affiliate of the New Orleans Pelicans, and the Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine (LECOM) are giving special recognition to 10 service men and women during the team's annual "Salute Our Troops" game against the Raptors 905 on Saturday, Nov. 23. Military members being recognized include:
Peter C. Correa, Army (Served 1968-1996)ÃÂ ÃÂ ÃÂ ÃÂ Bruce Cooper, Navy (Served 1962-1966)
John Felix, Marines (Served 1965-1976)ÃÂ ÃÂ ÃÂ ÃÂ ÃÂ ÃÂ Joe Gaeta Sr., Army (30+ years of service)
Chase Geer, Navy (Served 2018-present)ÃÂ ÃÂ ÃÂ ÃÂ ÃÂ ÃÂ Howard Hart, Navy (Served 1967-1975)
David Holmes, Air Force (Served 1975-2005)ÃÂ ÃÂ ÃÂ Robert Holmes, Army (four years of service)
Anthony Kulyk, Army (Served 2009-present)ÃÂ ÃÂ ÃÂ ÃÂ Charles Lehr, Navy (Served 1966-2006)
Those being recognized were selected at random through a three-week online contest and will receive tickets to the "Salute Our Troops" game, a personalized commemorative jersey, and will be introduced with the team that night, courtesy of LECOM Health.
BayHawks players will wear commemorative uniforms that feature a black, white and grey camouflage design, and will be auctioned during the game with all proceeds benefitting the Pennsylvania Wounded Warriors. All service men and women in attendance will also be recognized pre-game during a video tribute honoring all five branches of the military.
Furthermore, the BayHawks "Season of Giving" will be enacted for the team's games on Friday, Nov. 22 versus the Capital City Go-Go and Saturday, Nov. 23. Fans can support active service members by bringing military care package items to either game and, in return, will receive one free Main Level ticket for that night's contest. Some of the acceptable items include batteries, deodorant, reading material, socks and toothpaste.
