
Suns Turn Back the Clock at the Baseball Grounds

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - The Jacksonville Suns play host to an Old Timer's game before the Suns take the field against the Tennessee Smokies at 6:05PM on Saturday June 23, 2012. Gates will open at 4PM.
The Suns are celebrating another throwback weekend at the Baseball Grounds as the Suns flashback to the 90s and turn back the clock with an Old Timer's game.
Old Timer's in attendance in no particular order are: Desi Relaford (Mariners, Phillies, Mets, Royals, Padres and Rangers), Ryan Freel (Reds and Cubs), Kris Keller (Tigers), Nick Maness (Mets), Fred Anson (Mariners), John Wells (Red Sox), Jeremy Rankin (Red Sox), Billy Bone (Pirates), Derek Gutierrez (Orioles), Matt Weigand (Rays), Trevor Hall (Independent League) and others.
Desi Relaford, a Jacksonville native, was a Jacksonville Suns player for two seasons ('93 and '94) and debuted his Major League career for the Phillies in 1996 and played through the 2004 season.
Ryan Freel, a Jacksonville native, played in the Southern League for Knoxville and Tennessee from1997-2000 before he debuted with the Reds in 2003 and retired after the 2004 season.
Also, the Suns are giving away an Alex Rodriguez bobblehead to the first 3,000 fans at the front gate! After the game there will be a postgame concert by a Dave Matthews Tribute Band. Be sure to get to the ballpark early and check out all of the excitement.
Tickets for all Suns home games are currently on sale through the Suns Box Office at (904) 358-2846, or online at www.jaxsuns.com . Tickets are $7.50 for general admission, $10.50 for reserved seating and $13.50 for Homeplate Box seating. Limited sponsorships, season tickets and group packages are still available. The 2012 season is presented by Everbank, official banking partner of the Jacksonville Suns. The Suns are the Double-A Affiliate of the Miami Marlins and a member of the Southern League of Professional Baseball.
