Kevin Keyes two-run homer in the bottom of the sixth gave Hagerstown the lead, and the Suns went on to beat the Lexington Legends 3-2 Monday night in Hagerstown.

The Legends took a 1-0 lead in the top of the first against major leaguer Doug Slaten. The Washington Nationals' left-hander, who has been on the disabled list since June 4 because of a sore left elbow, pitched to the first four batters in the game, and gave up a one-out single to Ben Orloff and an RBI double off the center field wall by Mike Kvasnicka.

Tyler Burnett's solo homer in the fourth made it 2-0 Lexington, and that lead stood until the sixth. With one out, a double by Adrian Sanchez, a run-scoring single by David Freitas and Keyes' blast over the wall in right center gave the Suns the lead for good.

The Legends loaded the bases with two outs in the ninth inning, but Bryce Lane's long drive to left field was caught by Michael Taylor just in front of the wall.

Matt Swynenberg (6-1), who relieved Slaten in the first inning, pitched seven and two-thirds innings to get his sixth win. Legends' starter Tanner Bushue (6-5) took the loss.

The two teams play again Tuesday night at 7:05 p.m.

The Suns announced that Nationals' right-hander Stephen Strasburg, the top pick in the major league draft in 2009, will make the start Wednesday against the Legends. Game time Wednesday is also 7:05 p.m. Strasburg is working his way back to the big leagues after arm surgery last year.
