Intimidators Hosting WSOC-TV School Tools Donation on Friday

KANNAPOLIS, N.C. (August 15, 2011) - The Kannapolis Intimidators, the Class A Affiliate of the Chicago White Sox, invite fans to Back to School Night on Friday, Aug. 19 at 7:05 p.m. against the Hagerstown Suns (Washington Nationals) featuring the WSOC-TV School Tools Donation and the SAFE Kids Operation Medicine Drop.

Fans that bring three school supply items to the ballpark will receive a complimentary general admission ticket to that night's game. Supplies should be taken to the collection barrels in front of the stadium, and all supplies donated will stay in Rowan and Cabarrus counties. Each season the Intimidators team up with WSOC-TV to raise school supplies for local children heading into the school year.

Also on Friday, SAFE Kids is asking fans to bring unused and expired medications to drop off in a safe place as part of Operation Medicine Drop. All fans who bring medication to drop off will receive a voucher for one free cotton candy. SAFE Kids will be sure to properly dispose of the medications, so it is out of the reach of children, out of our community, and does not harm our environment.

The Intimidators are currently in first place in the South Atlantic League Northern Division 2nd Half standings and are in the middle of an eight-game home stand that runs throught Aug. 21.
