Sunday's Sea Dogs' Doubleheader Cancelled

Portland, Maine- Sunday's (August 3rd) scheduled doubleheader between the Portland Sea Dogs and the Trenton Thunder has been cancelled due to unsafe playing conditions as a result of the heavy rains that hit southern Maine Sunday morning. These games will not be made-up. The decision was made be the Eastern League umpires.

Fans with tickets for the August 3rd cancellation, may exchange their ticket for a ticket of equal or lesser value to any remaining 2008 Sea Dogs home game including any potential playoff game, or any game up to July 1st of 2009, subject to availability. Any questions regarding rained out tickets may be directed to the Sea Dogs Ticket Office at 207-879-9500 or tickets@seadogs.com.

Sunday was the last scheduled meeting between the two clubs this season, resulting in the cancellation of these games. These games will not be rescheduled. Final standings and playoff qualifications will be based on the two teams with the highest winning percentage.

The is the sixth rain out at Hadlock Field this season for the Sea Dogs and the fifth in the last ten scheduled home games.

Tickets for most remaining 2008 Sea Dogs' home games area available and can be purchased by calling the Sea Dogs Ticket Office at 207-879-9500 or online at www.seadogs.com. The Sea Dogs return home on Tuesday, August 12th for a six game homestand against the Altoona Curve (Pirates) and the Harrisburg Senators (Nationals).
