AKRON, OH - Both offenses got on the board early, and the bullpens shut everything down late in Harrisburg's 7-5 win over Akron before 3,248 fans at Canal Park Sunday afternoon. The Aeros fell to 68-47 while the third-place Senators improved to 63-51, just 4.5 games behind Akron for first place in the Southern Division.

The Senators took an early 4-0 lead in the second inning with the help of two walks by Aeros starter Kevin Dixon. Ofilio Castro singled with one out and Garrett Guzman followed with a walk. After a fly out, Seth Bynum drew a walk to load the bases and Mike Daniel unloaded them with a grand slam on a 3-2 offering from Dixon.

The Aeros, though, took the lead in the bottom of the third, bringing 10 men to the plate. The first four men in the inning all had hits as Brandon Pinckney, Jose Constanza, and Josh Rodriguez singled to load the bases and Bronson Sardinha came through with a double into the left-field corner to clear the bases. With one out, Stephen Head walked and Wyatt Toregas singled Sardinha home to tie the game. After Harrisburg starter Zack Segovia hit Nathan Panther with a pitch to reload the bases, Ryan Goleski knocked a sacrifice fly to give Akron a 5-4 lead.

Harrisburg regained the lead with three runs in the fourth inning. Former Aeros catcher Javi Herrera homered to lead off the inning, and the next three men reached to load the bases. Bill Rhinehart then grounded into an RBI fielder's choice, and after a walk to Jemel Spearman, Marvin Lowrance delivered a sac fly to provide the final margin of 7-5.

Both bullpens entered the game early and combined to toss 10.1 scoreless innings.

Yunior Novoa (1-0) earned the win for Harrisburg, tossing 2.2 innings of scoreless ball and allowing three hits with three strikeouts and no walks. Josh Perrualt picked up his first save of the season, allowing just a walk in 1.2 innings. Dixon (8-8) took the loss, surrendering seven runs on seven hits and four walks with three strikeouts in three-plus innings. Segovia worked just 4.2 innings, allowing five runs on seven hits and five walks. Head reached base four times for the Aeros, going 2-3 with two walks and a run. Tony Sipp worked two perfect innings of relief with a strikeout.

The Aeros now hit the road to begin a seven-day, eight-game, two-city trip to Altoona and Trenton. Akron will be at Blair County Ballpark in Altoona Monday night at 7:05 p.m. for the opener of a three-game set with the Curve, as left-hander Scott Lewis (5-2, 2.85 ERA) goes against fellow southpaw Kyle Bloom (2-6, 4.30 ERA). The game broadcast begins at 6:50 p.m. on SportsRadio 1350 AM and online at www.akronaeros.com. For more information, please call the Aeros at (330) 253-5151.
