
Strong 4th Lifts Knicks Past Red Claws

White Plains, NY - The Maine Red Claws, presented by Unum, had a 5-point lead in the 4th quarter, but gave up a big run to the Westchester Knicks from there, falling on the road 109-91.
Maine (14-23) was led by Boston Celtics Two-Way Player P.J. Dozier, who finished with 22 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. Archie Goodwin and Andrew White each scored 17 points in the loss. Justin Bibbs added 12 points for the Red Claws.
Westchester (23-17) was led by Billy Garrett with 23 points and Isaiah Hicks with 20 points in the win. The Knicks won the game despite making only 3 three-pointers (3-17).
The two teams would trade buckets early, with Dozier scoring 8 quick points. Bohannon's lay-up gave Maine a 14-13 lead. Zak Ervin's three-point play gave the Knicks a 3 point lead. Devon Baulkman's three gave Westchester a 25-17 lead. Sekou Wiggs' put-back extended the lead to 9. Goodwin helped lead the Red Claws back into the game, and his late three made it 33-30

In the 2nd, the Red Claws took the lead on a 9-2 run to open the quarter. Goodwin's steal set up Justin Bibbs for a lay-up, putting Maine up 39-35. The Knicks then scored 6 straight, including a steal and dunk from Ervin to put Westchester up 2. White dropped in a three to make it 44-43 Claws. Maine out-scored Westchester 22-18 in the 2nd, taking a 52-51 halftime lead. Dozier led all scorers with 15 points, while Goodwin added 11 in the first half. Westchester shot 51% (22-43) from the field, but just 1-8 from three-point range.
Westchester opened the 3rd scoring 6 straight points. Bibbs scored 4 quick points to get the Red Claws back within 2. Billy Garrett's fadeaway put the Knicks back up 6. The Red Claws hung around, with Sheldon Jeter knocking in a three. Goodwin hit a tough step back to make it 70-69 Westchester. Baulkman stopped the run with a trey of his own. Brown's triple gave Maine a 74-73 lead. Gyorgy Goloman's put-back slam gave Westchester a 77-76 lead after 3.
In the 4th, White and Trey Davis knocked in quick three's to put Maine up 82-77. Again, the Knicks came back, scoring 8 straight points to re-gain the lead. Billy Garrett made it a 12-0 run and 89-82 Westchester lead. Jameeel Warney kept the run going for the Knicks with a driving lay-up. Dozier buried a three to get it back to 6. The Knicks made it a double-digit lead at the free throw line, and the Knicks cruised to victory from there. In the final 10:30 of the game, Maine was out-scored 32-9.
Maine shot 39% (31-79) from the field in the game, 34% (12-35) from three-point range, and 17-26 from the free throw line. Westchester shot 54% (46-85) from the floor, 18% (3-17) from beyond the arc, and 14-20 from the charity stripe.
