Fast Start Carries Wolves to Sixth Straight Home Win

Des Moines, Iowa - The Iowa Wolves (16-24) used a 25-point first half advantage to defeat the Texas Legends (14-25) 121-111 Wednesday night at Wells Fargo Arena.

With the win, the Wolves are now 6-0 at home and 7-1 overall in the month of February.

Darius Johnson-Odom paced the team offensively, finishing with 24 points, four rebounds and five assists while shooting 10-of-19.

Six players finished in double figures for a well-balanced Wolves offense that shot 50.0% from the floor in the win. Iowa is averaging 130 points per contest in its last seven wins.

Denver Nuggets two-way player Brandon Goodwin notched his third straight double-double, tallying 18 points and a game-high 13 rebounds.

Two fellow Wolves joined Goodwin with a double-double, including NBA veteran Hakim Warrick and Thomas Welsh. Warrick posted 14 points and 10 rebounds while Welsh contributed 18 points and 12 rebounds. Both big men shot over 70.0% in the win.

Iowa led for all but the first three minutes of tonight's game, taking control early while limiting Texas to just 41 points in the first half.

C.J. Williams and Xavier Silas each knocked down three three-pointers during the game, finishing with 13 and 12 points respectively for the home team.

Trahson Burrell came on strong in the second half for the Legends, scoring 18 of his team-leading 20 points in the final two quarters of play. The guard also made a game-high four three-pointers.

Iowa begins a three-game road trip before returning home for Faith & Family Night against the Rio Grande Valley Vipers on Sunday, March 3 at 3:00 p.m. CT.
