Raptors 905 (23-15) outscored the Wisconsin Herd (9-27) 36-20 in the third quarter and held off a late fourth quarter push to secure a 110-108 victory Wednesday night.
Derek Cooke Jr. continued to crash the boards, as he recorded his fourth straight double-double, grabbing 19 rebounds and scoring 13 points. The 905 backcourt spearheaded the offence, Jordan Howard leading all scorers with 26 points, while Jordan Loyd contributed 24 to the win.
Wisconsin was led by Michael Qualls, who tallied 24 points and seven boards. Nick Johnson recorded a near triple-double, scoring 21 points while adding nine assists and nine rebounds.
The 905 were down three points at the half, but responded with a strong offensive outburst in the third quarter, outscoring the Herd by 16 points and shooting a blistering .593 from the field. The Herd clawed back late, bringing the game within two points in the final moments but were unable to complete the comeback bid.
Raptors 905 return to Paramount Fine Foods Centre Saturday afternoon, as they take on the Long Island Nets at 2:00pm. Wisconsin returns home for a Friday night meeting with Agua Caliente, tip-off scheduled for 7 p.m. (CT).
