Stringer Named to Canada U-17 Development Camp

LETHBRIDGE, AB - Hockey Canada has announced their National Under-17 Development Camp and Lethbridge Hurricanes forward Zack Stringer is one of 112 players that will attend the camp July 19-26, 2019.

Stringer, 16, was originally drafted by the Hurricanes eighth overall in the 2018 Western Hockey League Bantam Draft. The product of Lethbridge appeared in eight regular season games last year for the Hurricanes collecting four points (1g- 3a) along with two penalty minutes and a plus-1 rating while adding three points (1g-2a) in six post-season games.

The 6'0", 182-pound forward had 41 points (14g-27a) along with 66 penalty minutes in 30 games with the Lethbridge Midget AAA Hurricanes during the regular season last year finishing third in team scoring and seventh in league scoring. Over two seasons with the Midget AAA Hurricanes, Stringer tallied 71 points (31g-40a) and 96 penalty minutes in 53 regular season games.

Stringer has represented Canada at other levels, including the Western Canada Selects U15 in 2016-2017 where he had 11 points (7g-4a) in eight games while collecting 12 points (2g-10a) in eight games in 2017-2018 at the U15 level. Stringer has also attended U12, U13 and U14 tournaments in his career.

A total of 112 players, including 64 forwards, 36 defenceman and 12 goaltenders have been invited while a total of 25 WHL players will attend. The camp will take place in Calgary, Alberta at the Markin MacPhail Centre at WinSport's Olympic Park.
