Guelph Storm News Release

Guelph Storm General Manager Mike Kelly announced today that the Storm have acquired a 3rd round pick in the 2020 OHL Priority selection and two second round conditional picks in 2018 and 2019 from the Kitchener Rangers in exchange for the rights to forward Robby Fabbri.

Fabbri was the Storm's first round selection in 2012, chosen 6th overall. The Mississauga native was an integral part of the Storm's 2013-14 Championship team winning the Wayne Gretzky trophy for playoff MVP recording 28 points in 16 games.

Selected in the 1st round of the NHL Entry Draft by the St. Louis Blues in 2014, Fabbri has played 39 games this season recording 14 points. On October 8th, 2015 in his NHL debut, the 19 year old scored his first NHL goal.

"Given Fabbri is on pace for a 20 goal NHL season, we feel it is unlikely that he will be reassigned to major junior this year", GM Mike Kelly explained. "Because of that, we thought a 3rd round pick for his rights and two conditional 2nd round picks in 2018 and 2019 was a fair deal to make with the Kitchener Rangers."
