Owen Sound Attack News Release

The Owen Sound Attack kick off a week that sees them play four games with a Tuesday night tilt against the Kitchener Rangers.

A 7:00pm puck drop at the Harry Lumley Bayshore Community Centre on Jan. 12 sees the Midwest Division rivals meet for the 5th time this season, with the Attack having earned four of a possible eight points in the season series thus far.

Owen Sound and Kitchener last met on Friday Dec. 11, a game that Kitchener won 6-1. That game was the only of the four contests between the two squads decided in regulation, as the three previous meetings needed overtime to find a winner.

The Rangers enter the game with a record of 28-6-4-0, good for 60 points and 4th in the Western Conference. After a weekend of three tough games in three nights, the Attack boast a record of 17-15-6-2 for 42 points and 6th in the conference.

Leading the charge for the Attack on Tuesday will be Ethan Szypula, whose 11 goals on the year is a team high, while overage forward Josh Sterk has set the pace in team scoring with 29 points on the season.

Adam Mascherin is the Kitchener Rangers's leading scorer with 49 points in 35 games played, while Ryan MacInnis - who recently captured bronze with Team USA at the IIHF World Junior Championships - leads the team in goals with 21.

Tickets for the game are available at the DJ's Furniture Attack Box Office, online at www.attackhockey.com, or by calling 519-371-7452.

The Weekend Preview is presented by Joe Tomato's, located next to the Galaxy Cinemas on the Sunset Strip. For half-off wings and appetizers, bring your ticket stub into Joe Tomato's following every Attack home game.
