Owen Sound Attack News Release

The Owen Sound Attack and Sun Life Financial partnered earlier this year to help create the Sun Life Financial Community Corner and this Saturday the Attack and Sun Life are pleased to host the Ontario Students Against Impaired Driving (OSAID) when the Attack take on the Kitchener Rangers on Tuesday, Jan. 12.

OSAID is an anti-impaired driving initiative which is found across the province of Ontario, Canada that is aimed primarily at getting involved in combating impaired driving.

OSAID is about teens helping teens to consider safe alternatives and new perspectives to the perceived norms about alcohol, drugs and dangerous driving.

Each year OSAID reaches more than 300 000 students through 300 chapters with 5000 volunteers in Ontario. One of the methods we use to raise awareness of our initiative is through our annual conference we hold every year in the spring.

At this conference, students from across Ontario come together to learn what impaired driving is, its consequences, and what students themselves can do to stop it. These students then take this experience back to their schools to help campaign for this cause.

In the case of Bruce Peninsula District School, members of OSAID will be present at the game on Tuesday to help spread the word of safe driving practices.

Fans are encouraged to visit OSAID at the Sun Life Financial Community Corner booth where they can learn more about OSAID and what they look to accomplish in Grey-Bruce in 2016.
