
Stingrays Weekly: Stingrays Ring in the New Year Wednesday against the Florida Everblades with BOGO

The Week That Was...
The South Carolina Stingrays battled the Wheeling Nailers last weekend in a pair of matchups at the North Charleston Coliseum and earned a week record of 2-0-0-0 and an overall record of 15-10-1-4. The Stingrays are currently on a seven-game point streak (6-0-1-0) and are unbeaten in 12 of their last 13 contests (11-1-1-0).
The Stingrays and Nailers concluded the Holiday break Saturday night with the Stingrays prevailing 3-1. Forward Andrew Chrewnichan scored twice, forward Braden Pimm registered his eighth goal of the season and goaltender Jeff Jakaitis extended his unbeaten streak to nine contests (7-0-1-1) with 24 saves.
On Sunday, the Stingrays scored four goals in the opening period and cruised to a 5-1 victory over the Nailers to wrap up the regular-season series. Forward Wayne Simpson registered three assists and forward Cody Sylvester pitched in two goals. Netminder Adam Morrison made 21 saves in the win.

Forward Patrick Gaul is riding a four-game point streak with one goal and three assists for four points while forward Andrew Chrewnichan has a built a three-game point streak with five points (two goals, three assists).
Forward Cody Sylvester has three goals and three assists for six points in his last five games.
Defenseman Marcus Perrier is second among ECHL rookies and fourth among defensemen with 23 minor penalties. He also stands fifth among rookies with 61 penalty minutes.
Goaltenders Jeff Jakaitis and Adam Morrison sit second and third in the ECHL with a 2.06 and 2.09 goals-against average. Morrison stands third with a .926 save percentage while Jakaitis is fifth at .922. Jakaitis is also unbeaten in his last nine appearances going 7-0-1-1.
