NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. - The South Carolina Stingrays ended the week on a high note, defeating the Colorado Eagles 5-2 on Sunday afternoon after dropping their first two contests to the Eagles earlier in the week. Now the Stingrays have a short break during the Thanksgiving holiday before hosting Norfolk on Saturday before traveling to Atlanta for a Sunday afternoon meeting with the Gladiators.

THURSDAY: COLORADO EAGLES 4, SOUTH CAROLINA STINGRAYS 2

(North Charleston Coliseum - North Charleston, SC)

The Colorado Eagles scored twice in both the second and third periods to defeat the South Carolina Stingrays by a score of 4-2 at the North Charleston Coliseum on Thursday night. Stingrays forwards Alex Gacek and Rob Flick each had goals in the game for South Carolina, while Steven McParland and Daniel Federico picked up assists and Parker Milner made 26 saves in net.

SATURDAY: COLORADO EAGLES 7, SOUTH CAROLINA STINGRAYS 5

(North Charleston Coliseum - North Charleston, SC)

Despite scoring four times in the final five minutes of the game, the South Carolina Stingrays came up short to the Colorado Eagles Saturday night, losing by a final score of 7-5 at the North Charleston Coliseum. South Carolina forward Steve McParland scored his team-leading fifth goal of the season in the first period and later added two assists, while defenseman Steve Weinstein netted his first tally of the year along with two additional helpers late in the game.

SUNDAY: SOUTH CAROLINA STINGRAYS 5, COLORADO EAGLES 2

(North Charleston Coliseum - North Charleston, SC)

Three third period goals helped the South Carolina Stingrays come from behind to defeat the Colorado Eagles 5-2 in the final game of the teams' 3-game series Sunday afternoon at the North Charleston Coliseum. South Carolina forwards Alex Gacek and Rob Flick each scored in the third period and ran their respective goal-scoring streaks to four games apiece, while defenseman Steve Weinstein earned three assists.

FLICK FINDING HIS GROOVE

Forward Rob Flick found the back of the net for the fourth straight game Sunday, scoring the game-winning tally early on in the third period for South Carolina. Three of his four goals have now come in the third period, helping the Stingrays when they need it most. The goals are Flick's first four tallies of the year, while Sunday's was his first game-winning strike of the season. The London, Ont. native also leads South Carolina with 36 shots on goal. Now in his sixth professional season, Flick has played 279 career games in the AHL for the Portland Pirates, Providence Bruins and Rockford IceHogs. Last season, the former Chicago Blackhawks draft pick scored 21 points (seven goals, 14 assists) in 60 games with Portland.

WEINSTEIN STEPPING UP OFFENSIVELY

Defenseman Steve Weinstein has come out of his shell offensively in the last two games for South Carolina. The Los Angeles native had a goal and two assists for his first multi-point game of the season Saturday night against Colorado to go along with a plus-3 rating. He then followed that performance with another 3-point output Sunday afternoon, racking up three assists and five shots on goal. The blueliner is now the highest scoring defenseman on the team with eight points (one goal, seven assists).

MCPARLAND MAKING AN IMPACT

Rookie forward Steven McParland has continued his hot play and now leads the team with five goals and 13 points. McParland is carrying a four-game point streak, during which he has registered six points. The Terrace Bay, Ont. native had his second career three-point output on Saturday, scoring a goal and two assists. McParland is also second on the team in plus-minus, sporting a +5 rating through 12 games with the Stingrays is in his first full professional season after playing four years for the Providence College Friars in the NCAA's Hockey East conference.

GACEK BECOMING A CONSISTENT OFFENSIVE CONTRIBUTOR

Alex Gacek has made the most of his opportunity over the last week, scoring in four consecutive games since being moved up in the lineup last Sunday in Orlando. The forward notched his first goal of the year with the game-winning tally against Orlando and has scored in each game since for South Carolina, including one goal in all three contests with Colorado. The rookie from Hampton, N.H. now has five points and 19 shots on goal in his first nine professional games this season.
