This past week, the Royals made the team's only trip of the season to SNHU Arena in Manchester, New Hampshire, where Reading faced the Manchester Monarchs in three consecutive games. The Royals came up short in all three of those games, losing in regulation on Wednesday morning (4-1) and Friday evening (2-1) before salvaging a point in an overtime loss on Saturday (4-3).

After going 0-2-1-0 this past week, Reading's record has dropped to two games under .500 at 6-8-1-0=14, which places the team in fifth place in the North Division.

After Friday's 2-1 loss to the Monarchs, the Royals record stood at two-games under .500 through fifteen games. This marked only the fourth time in team history that Reading's record has been below .500 through fifteen games. The others were: (i) 2001-02: 4-9-0-2; (ii) 2006-07: 5-7-0-3; and (iii) 2008-09: 5-9-0-1.

The back-to-back regulation losses to the Monarchs on Wednesday and Friday pushed the Royals season-long losing streak to six games (0-6-0-0). That marked only the fourth time in the sixteen year history of the Royals-and the first time in the nine year tenure of Head Coach Larry Courville-that the team lost six (or more) games in a row in regulation time.

The team record for consecutive losses is eight, which occurred from November 22 through December 6, 2008. The other streaks of six consecutive regulation losses occurred in the inaugural season (2001-02) (02/01 - 02/10/02); and the second season for the team (2002-03) (03/17 - 03/30/03).

Saturday's OTL served to snap the team's six game losing streak, however the Royals are currently riding a seven game winless streak (0- 6-1-0).

The team record for consecutively games without a win is nine, which Reading has suffered through three times previously: (i) March 9 - 29, 2002: 0-8-0-1; (ii) November 22 - December 6, 2008: 0-8-0-1; and (iii) November 18 - December 8, 2011: 0-5-2-2.

After starting the season 5-1-0-1 on the road, Reading has not won in the team's last five games played away from Santander Arena (0-4-1-0).

After Saturday's 4-3 OTL in Manchester, Reading has already played twelve road games (5-5-1-1)-fully one-third of the games that the team will play away from Santander Arena in the regular season this year.

The Royals are yet to beat the Manchester Monarchs in five games played between the two teams so far this season (0-4-1-0).

The two teams will play five more times in the regular season-all at Santander Arena in Reading. (The next matchup will be on Wednesday, December 21, 2016.)

After this week's three games in Manchester, Reading has now played ten games against teams from the Eastern Conference. So far, the Royals are 2-7-1-0 against the East with fifty-one more games to be within the Conference.

Eight of the Royals games so far have been played against teams from the North Division, and Reading has compiled a record of 2-5-1-0 against the Division with thirty-three more games to be played against teams from the North.

On Friday, The Royals make the team's first trip to First Arena in Elmira, New York, where Reading will face the Elmira Jackals for the second time this season. The Royals and Elmira have met up once already this year-in the season opening game for both teams on October 15, 2016, at Santander Arena. The Royals won that game 6-2.

Reading will play the Jackals a total of ten times this season-five in Reading and five in Elmira.

Since the 2013-14 season, the Royals have compiled an overall record of 31-9-3-1 in the last forty-four games played against the Jackals.

Since March 10, 2013, Reading has gone 17-2-2-0 in the last twenty-one games played at First Arena in Elmira.

This week, Reading will return home for a pair of games on Saturday (November 26) and Sunday (November 27) against the Cincinnati Cyclones, who defeated the Royals at US Bank Arena on November 2 by a score of 7-4. These two games will mark the final matchups of the regular season between the Royals and Cyclones.

In the first two games played this past week, Reading's offense was held to just one goal. The Royals have been held to one goal five times this year (0-5-0-0), and three of those games have been against Manchester.

Overall, Reading has scored a total of 52 goals in sixteen games, which is a 3.25 goals per game average (tied fifteenth).

The two goals allowed by Reading in last Friday's 2-1 loss tied the season low for goals against. Reading has allowed two goals in three games this season (2-1-0-0).

Overall, the Royals have allowed 61 goals against, which is a 3.81 team goals against average (twenty-fifth in the league).

In the five games so far played between Reading and Manchester, the Monarchs have outscored Reading 21-10.

Reading scored the game's first goal in Friday's 2-1 loss to the Monarchs on Friday, as well as the 4-3 OTL on Saturday. Reading has now compiled a record of 3-2-1-0 in the six games in which the team has scored first.

The Royals actually led 1-0 after one period on Saturday. That game marked the first time this season that Reading has held a lead after one period and failed to win (2-0-1-0).

Friday and Saturday's games in Manchester were both 'blown-lead' losses for Reading, who has now suffered five BLL's in the first sixteen games of the season. Three of those blown-lead losses have come to Manchester.

Over the course of the 302:39 minutes of game time so far played in the five games between Reading and Manchester, the Royals have held a lead for 19:23, while the Monarchs have led for 170:45.

Over the course of the 422:39 of game time during the current seven game winless streak for the Royals, Reading has led for a combined 24:27, while the team has trailed the opposition for 242:12.

The Royals did not score a power play goal in the three games played against the Monarchs this past week (0-11). In the five games so far played against Manchester, Reading has gone 1-22 on the PP, which is a 4.5% scoring ratio.

Overall, the Royals are scoring power play goals at an 18.6% clip (11-59), which is fourteenth in the league.

In Friday's 2-1 loss to the Monarchs, the Royals' penalty killers kept Manchester off the board in the five power play chances that they had in that game. That marked the second time this season that Reading has held the opposition's PP in check.

In the five games played between the Royals and Monarchs, Manchester has gone 6-18 on the PP (33.3%).

Overall, Reading is killing penalties at a 69.4% clip (19 PPGAs in 62 opps), which is twenty-seventh in the league.

Saturday's OTL in Manchester marked the second time this season that Reading has gone beyond regulation time for a game's resolution. The Royals are 0-2 in those games, having lost in a shootout to the Idaho Steelheads on Friday, October 28.

Since the start of the 2015-16 season, Reading has gone 2-12 in that last fourteen regular season games that have gone beyond regulation time for resolution (1-7 in overtime) (1-5 in the shootout).

Over the last four seasons (since 2013-14), the Royals have had eighteen games resolved in overtime (regular season and playoffs), and the team has gone 1-17 in those games with the only OT win in that time span coming last season in Brampton (December 28, 2015 by a score of 3-2 on an OT GWG by Robbie Czarnik).

Chris McCarthy, who registered a team-season high eight shots on goal in Saturday's 4-3 OTL in Manchester, scored his team leading seventh goal to tie the game that night with the goaltender pulled and the sixth attacker on the ice and just 1:09 remaining in regulation. McCarthy also scored the game's first goal (and the Royals' only goal) in Friday's 2-1 loss.

McCarthy, who has four goals in his last four games, has nine points (5g-4a) in his last seven games. He recorded his team- leading fourth multi-point game of the year on Saturday (1g-1a).

McCarthy, who has picked up at least a point in eleven of his thirteen games with the team, leads the Royals with fifteen points (7g-8a).

Olivier Labelle, who scored his sixth goal of the season to bring the Royals within one (at 3-2) 7:06 into the second period of Saturday's OTL, is currently riding a five game point streak (1g-4a).

Labelle, who has had at least one point in thirteen of the sixteen games that he has played this season, played his 244th career game with the Royals on Saturday. His next game will tie Yannick Tifu (245) for second most regular season games ever as a Royal. (The all-time leader in that category is Ryan Cruthers at 278).

Labelle currently has 215 career points as a Royal (107g-108a), which is seven points behind Tifu for second on the all-time list. (Cruthers leads in that category as well with 273 points).

Despite being recalled to the Lehigh Valley Phantoms of the AHL after Wednesday's 4-1 loss, Steven Swavely is still tied for sixth in rookie scoring in the ECHL with thirteen points (5g-8a) in twelve games.

Mike Pereira scored the game's first goal on Saturday in Manchester 5:33 into the first period. That was Pereira's sixth goal of the season (tied with Labelle for second most on the team) and his team-leading second FG of the year.

Pereira leads the Royals with 47 shots on goal through sixteen games played.

Mike Pelech, who picked up four penalty minutes in Wednesday morning's 4-1 loss to Manchester, leads the ECHL with fourteen minor penalties.

Defenseman Florian Iberer (3g-6a=9pts), who picked up the primary assist on the game-tying goal by Chris McCarthy with 1:09 left in regulation on Saturday, is tied with Mike Marcou (1g-8a) for the team lead in scoring amongst defensemen on the team.

Defenseman Nick Luukko, who assisted on the Royals' lone goal on Friday night (the first goal of the game by Chris McCarthy), has six points (3g-3a) in his last nine games.

Defenseman Michael Boivin, who has five points (1g-4a) in five games with the Royals, picked up the secondary assist on the game-tying goal by Chris McCarthy on Saturday. Boivin generated a personal season-high five shots on goal in Saturday's OTL.

Defenseman Derik Johnson picked up the primary assist on the Royals' lone goal (by Justin Crandall) in Wednesday's 4-1 loss.

Justin Crandall, who had seventeen goals (and fifty-five points) in fifty-four games with the Royals last season, scored his first goal of the year in Wednesday's 4-1 loss in Manchester.

In his second game with the team, Tyrell Goulbourne picked up an assist on the first goal of the game scored by Mike Pereira in Saturday's 4-3 OTL in Manchester.

Goaltender Mark Dekanich, who played all three games for Reading this past week, has started the last four consecutive games for the team and has been the goaltender of record in six of the seven games played during this current winless streak for the team. Dekanich, who has compiled a record of 3-6-1-1 through eleven games with the Royals this season, is currently third in the league in minutes played (632) and saves made (310). Dekanich has a 3.61 goals against average and a .891 save percentage. .
