K-Wings Acquire Adam Brace in Trade with Orlando

KALAMAZOO, MI- The Kalamazoo Wings, proud ECHL affiliates of the Tampa Bay Lightning, have acquired forward Adam Brace from the Orlando Solar Bears in a trade for future considerations.

Brace, 28, joins the Wings after notching four points (one goal, three assists) in seven games with the Solar Bears through the first month of the season. The 5-foot-10, 187-pound forward spent the 2015-16 season in Germany's DEL-2 and led his team in scoring with 63 points (28 goals, 35 assists) in 52 games.

A native of Cobden, Ontario, Brace has appeared in 131 career ECHL games, and has generated 116 points on 51 goals and 65 assists. During the 2014-15 season with the Florida Everblades, Brace erupted with career highs in goals (35), assists (37) and points (72), and was named to the All-ECHL Second Team. Brace has also logged eight points in 12 career AHL games with Charlotte and Bridgeport.

Before turning pro, Brace spent four seasons in the Canadian Junior Hockey League, scoring 191 points (81 goals, 110 assists) in 217 career games. After his decorated junior career, Brace spent the 2008-09 season at Canisius College, before transferring to Robert Morris, where he played out the remainder of his college eligibility. Between the Griffins and Colonials, he was able to rack up 115 points in 135 games.

The Kalamazoo Wings return home on Friday, November 25 for a Black Friday showdown with the Greenville Swamp Rabbits at Wings Event Center. The first 1,000 fans in attendance will receive a 2016-17 magnet schedule and a 3'x5' Kalamazoo Wings flag.
