Stingrays Gameday: Stingrays Return Home To Battle Checkers Tonight

North Charleston, SC - The South Carolina Stingrays, riding an eight game unbeaten streak, return to North Charleston Coliseum for the first time in three weeks tonight to battle the Charlotte Checkers at 7:05 p.m. Tonight is the Stingrays second annual Green Night and environmentally friendly hockey game.

The first 1,500 fans will receive a free energy efficient CFL light bulb courtesy of Berkeley Electric. The Stingrays will be offsetting the emission cost of putting on a Stingrays home game by purchasing carbon credits from carbonfund.org.

Stingrays forward Matt Fornataro enters tonight's game on a two game point and goal streak (2g, 2a) and forward Michael Dubuc has tallied five points in the last two contests (2g, 3a). Stingrays goaltender Todd Ford is 5-0 in his last five starts with a 2.17 goals-against average.

The Stingrays head to Charlotte to face the Checkers Wednesday, November 18 at 7:00 p.m. at Time Warner Cable Arena. Listen to the game live at Stingrayshockey.com ! The Rays return to North Charleston Coliseum Friday, November 20 against the Gwinnett Gladiators at 7:05 p.m. for 100.9 WAY FM Family Fun Friday and $2 Beer Night! The Stingrays also host Gwinnett on Saturday, November 21 for Salute to Hometown Heroes Night featuring a pre-game hockey game between the Charleston Fire Dept. and the Atlanta Fire Dept. $2 of every ticket will go to the Equipping Our Heroes Foundation.
