
Stingrays Announce Possible First Round Playoff Scenarios

South Carolina Stingrays News Release
North Charleston, SC - The South Carolina Stingrays and Head Coach/General Manager Jared Bednar announced today two different first round playoff scenarios for the upcoming Kelly Cup Playoffs. All first round home games will be played at the North Charleston Coliseum.
The two first round playoff scenarios involve the Charlotte Checkers, who have clinched a playoff spot and are currently in third place in the division behind the Stingrays and the Florida Everblades.
Scenario number one is if the Stingrays have home-ice advantage in the first round of the playoffs against the Charlotte Checkers:

To order tickets for the games in Charlotte, you must call the Checkers front office at (704) 342-4423. Due to the fact that the games will be played at the Extreme Ice Center, seating is limited and will be sold on a first come first serve basis.
The Stingrays clinched the playoffs March 20th with their 3-0 win over the Mississippi Sea Wolves. The Rays enter the playoffs for the 15th time in their 16 year existence, an ECHL record. South Carolina also has the record for most Playoff games played and most wins. The Rays have won the Kelly Cup twice; in 1997 and 2001.
The Rays will be back in action on Friday night, when they travel to Duluth, GA to take on the Gwinnett Gladiators. Game time will be at 7:35. You can tune in to ESPN Radio 910 the Team for all the action starting with the Benitos Pre-game show beginning at 7:20. And don't forget, the final Stingrays home game of the regular season is next week on Sunday, March 29th.
