Las Vegas, NV - The Las Vegas Wranglers® were defeated by the Idaho Steelheads Friday night in front of 5,869 fans at the Orleans Arena. Blake Forsyth's second goal of the season with 1:18 left in the overtime lifted Idaho to victory. Steelheads goalie Steve Silverthorn made 30 saves for his 18th victory of the season. Forwards Steve Crampton and Joe Tallari each had a goal and an assist for the Wranglers. The Wranglers face the Idaho Steelheads again tomorrow night at 7:05 pm at the Orleans Arena.
In the first period, Steve Crampton scored the only goal of the period, putting the Wranglers in front 1-0.
In the second period, Steelheads winger Derek Nesbitt scored his 16th goal of the season, tying with the game at one. Joe Tallari scored his fifth goal of the season to give the Wranglers the lead 2-1 at 16:47 of the middle period.
In the third period, Marty Flichel netted his 20th goal of the season with 1:28 to go in the period, forcing overtime with the teams tied at two.
In the overtime period, Steelheads defenseman Blake Forsyth scored with 1:18 left to give the Steelheads a 3-2 win.
The Wranglers host the Port of Subs Pre-Game Party in the concourse of the Orleans Arena from 4:30 - 6:30 pm on Saturday, January 27th. The event will be followed with the Wranglers taking on the Steelheads at 7:05 pm. The "Zooperstars" will perform at Saturday's game. Sunday, Las Vegas will host Fresno at 5:05 pm. Anna Jack, the hula hoop girl from Late Night with David Letterman, will perform at Sunday's game.
