Falcons Fall to RoadRunners 3-0

Fresno, Calif. - Phoenix RoadRunners' goaltender Mike Morrison turned aside all 23 Falcons' shots on Friday night as Phoenix recorded a 3-0 win in front of 5,171 fans at Save Mart Center.

Phoenix notched the lone goal of the opening period 3:29 into the contest. Brock Hooton took control of the puck on the far post, and was able to redirect a shot past Scott Stirling for his ninth goal of the season.

The RoadRunners extended their lead to 3-0 with a pair of goals in the second period. Olivier Latendresse made it 2-0 at 1:07 as his shot from the right-wing circle deflected off of Stirling's skate and into net. Phoenix added a 5-on-3 power-play goal at 13:07 from Chanse Fitzpatrick to take a three-goal advantage.

Fresno opens a two-game series in Las Vegas on Sunday with face-off set for 5:05 p.m. at Orleans Arena. Catch all of the play-by-play action on 1550 Sporting News Radio, starting with the Port of Subs Pre-Game Show at 4:50.

The Falcons return home on Saturday, February 3, hosting the Stockton Thunder at 7:30 p.m. on Pink at the Rink Night, presented by the Mary Kay Ash Charitable Foundation, KSEE 24, ClearChannel Radio, and the Fresno Bee. The Falcons will wear special pink jerseys, which will be auctioned off following the game, with all proceeds benefiting the Mary Kay Ash Charitable Foundation in its work to prevent breast cancer and domestic violence.
