Eagles forward Matt Garbowsky netted the game's first goal when he led a 2-on-1 rush down the left wing before firing a wrister from the left circle past Idaho goalie Philippe Desrosiers to give Colorado a 1-0 lead just 3:59 into the contest.
The Steelheads would find an equalizer on the power play, as forward Steve McParland shoveled home a rebound in the crease to knot the game at 1-1 at the 12:41 mark of the first period.
Idaho would grab its first lead of the game with 6:55 remaining in the second period when forward Will Merchant tucked in a rebound on the short-side post to give the Steelheads a 2-1 edge.
The Eagles would strike back just over a minute later on the power play, as forward J.C. Beaudin collected a rebound in the slot and snapped it past Desrosiers to tie the game at 2-2.
With Idaho enjoying a 5-on-3 power play late in the middle frame, forward Justin Parizek would take advantage with a wrister from between the circles that would beat Eagles goalie Lukas Hafner with only 2:44 remaining in the period.
Moving into the third period, Idaho forward Connor Chatham would stuff a rebound in the slot into the back of the net to grow the Steelheads lead to 4-2 just 2:30 into the final frame. Less than two minutes later, forward Henrik Samuelsson would extend the lead even further with a power-play goal to give Idaho the 5-2 advantage.
Colorado would finally put on the breaks when forward Michael Joly snapped a wrister past Desrosiers to trim the Steelheads advantage to 5-3 at the 6:11 mark of the third period. The goal gave Joly his league-leading ninth of the season and also gives him a goal in six straight games.

This time it would be Brady Brassart wrapping home a rebound from the top of the crease to make it a 7-3 Steelheads lead, which they would hold onto until the end.
Hafner suffered the loss in net, stopping 33 of the 40 shots sent his way, while Desrosiers collected the win with 20 saves on 23 shots.
The Eagles now return home to face the Fort Wayne Komets on Wednesday, November 8th at 7:05pm at the Budweiser Events Center.
