Steelheads Kick off White Out Week

BOISE, Idaho - The West Coach Hockey League's (WCHL) first place Idaho Steelheads announced today plans for "White Out" week as they enter into the Larry Miller Subaru Mitsubishi WCHL Playoffs. The White Out concept began three years ago when Steelheads fans wore white and waved white rally rags and pom-poms in support of the team as they entered into the WCHL playoff series.
Governor Dirk Kempthorne was also on hand today to proclaim the week beginning April 7th, 2003 as Idaho Steelheads White Out Week in the state of Idaho.
Following is a list of White Out activities the Steelheads organization has planned for the week, culminating in the first playoff game against Fresno on Friday, April 11th. Fans are encouraged to come out to all of these events to cheer on the team.
Tuesday, April 8
* 11:30 am?1:30 pm: Steelheads players will be giving away snow cones at 8th and Idaho Street, and the Mullet Mob will be handing out coupons for Steelheads merchandise and special offers on playoff tickets.
* 6:30 pm?9:00 pm: Steelheads Awards Dinner and Banquet at the Grove Hotel Ballroom. Tickets are $25 and may be purchased by calling 383-0080.
Wednesday, April 9
* 11:30 am?1:30 pm: Steelheads players will be giving away snow cones at 8th and Idaho Street, and the Mullet Mob will be handing out coupons for Steelheads merchandise and special offers on playoff tickets.
* 5:00 pm?7:00 pm: Playoff Rally at the Grove. An "Alive After Five" style event featuring live music, food, beer, astrojump for kids, crazy fan contest, and fun. Dollar beers from 5:00?6:00 pm. Players will hand out FREE Steelheads t-shirts and other merchandise.
Thursday, April 10
* 11:30 am?1:30 pm: Steelheads players will be giving away snow cones at 8th and Idaho Street, and the Mullet Mob will be handing out coupons for Steelheads merchandise and special offers on playoff tickets.
* 5:30 pm?7:30 pm: Steelheads players will be at the Boise Towne Square, center court signing autographs and giving away Steelheads merchandise.
Friday, April 11
* 11:30 am?1:30 pm: Steelheads players will be giving away snow cones at 8th and Idaho Street, and the Mullet Mob will be handing out coupons for Steelheads merchandise and special offers on playoff tickets.
* 7:05 pm: Idaho Steelheads versus Fresno Falcons in the first game of the Larry Miller Subaru Mitsubishi WCHL Playoffs.
