Las Vegas Wranglers News Release

Boise, Ida. - Despite playing their fifth game in seven days, the Idaho Steelheads won 4-1 over the Las Vegas Wranglers tonight in the first of a two-game road series.

Wranglers goalie Travis Fullerton and Steelheads goalie Josh Robinson held off scoring until late in the first period as defenseman Patrick Cullity netted his first goal of the season for Idaho. The Wranglers would respond at the 6:27 mark of the second period, with forward Matt Tassone snaking the puck from underneath Robinson to tie the game 1-1.

Four minutes later, Idaho would regain the lead off the stick of forward William Rapuzzi, and a goal from forward Taylor Vause gave the Steelheads the 3-1 lead after 40 minutes of play. Cullity posted a power play goal early in the third to make it a 4-1 game, and with the Wranglers unable to answer, Idaho skated with the win.

The two teams meet again Friday night at 6:10 p.m. Afterward, the Wranglers return home to Orleans Arena on Friday, Dec. 6, to take on the Bakersfield Condors. The Smithereens will perform a post-game concert as well.
