Idaho Steelheads Announce "Pink in the Rink" Uniforms

Boise, ID - The Idaho Steelheads have announced the total donations following last weekend's "Pink in the Rink" Jersey Auction at CenturyLink Arena, sponsored by St. Luke's. The Steelheads earned $19,479 in total donations during their wins on Friday and Saturday night over the Alaska Aces, with all proceeds donated to the St Luke's Mountain States Tumor Institute to support cancer research.
The Steelheads collected $17,000 from the jersey auction at the end of Saturday's game in front of a sell-out crowd. Two Steelheads saw their jerseys purchased outright by fans for a $1,500 donation, with forward Jefferson Dahl's jersey bought on the auction's first night and defenseman Corbin Baldwin's jersey purchased on Saturday night.
The Steelheads earned an additional $2,479 from the two-day raffle for a jersey signed by the entire team.
"Once again our fan base came through with an overwhelming outpouring of support for our 'Pink in the Rink' weekend," said Steelheads' President Eric Trapp. "We're so proud of our hockey community and that we were able to work together with St. Luke's to fight a disease that has impacted each of us in some way."
The Steelheads have held custom jersey auctions for fans since 1998, donating over $500,000 dollars to various charities during that time. After three specialty jersey auctions this season, the Steelheads and their fans have raised a total of $49,229.
The first-place Steelheads travel to face the Rapid City Rush this weekend for a two-game series, starting with Friday night's game at Rushmore Plaza Civic Center. Puck-drop is scheduled for 7:05 MT, with the game available on ECHLTV and on 1350AM KTIK.
